Mental Health Clinician - Correctional Health Services

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Mental Health Clinician in Correctional Health Services. As a key member of our team, you will provide quality mental health care to incarcerated individuals who need and/or want services. You will conduct mental health evaluations, crisis intervention, assessments, and follow-up care. You will also determine and coordinate disposition of patients for appropriate level of mental health care, coordinate with Reentry Social Workers for appropriate discharge planning services, and complete required statistical reports.

Responsibilities

Conduct mental health evaluations, crisis intervention, assessments, and follow-up care
Determine and coordinate disposition of patients for appropriate level of mental health care
Coordinate with Reentry Social Workers for appropriate discharge planning services
Complete required statistical reports
Collaborate with the Department of Correction to ensure access to patients, proper housing, and treatment disposition
Coordinate patient care with other institutional programs
Develop and lead group treatment on mental health observation units and other units as assigned
Complete all required documentation
Participate in clinical supervision with Clinical Supervisor at least once a week
Participate in mental health and medical rounds as assigned
Participate in case conferences and treatment planning for patients receiving and being considered for mental health treatment
May conduct psychological testing as assigned
May supervise social work interns or student volunteers as assigned

Requirements

Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field
New York State License in Social Work, License in Mental Health Counseling, or licensure in Psychology
