Energy Storage Systems Technician

Site Overview
The Energy Storage facilities span various locations, providing essential services to the energy grid.

Position Summary
As an Energy Storage Systems Technician, your primary responsibility will be to oversee the operation and upkeep of energy storage project sites. Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) play a crucial role in balancing energy supply and demand by strategically managing their charging and discharging cycles.

Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct regular mechanical and electrical maintenance, along with inspections on related equipment.
2. Utilize all necessary safety gear to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.
3. Comprehend the electrical and mechanical functions of all components within a battery storage facility and associated equipment.
4. Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues; repair or replace components as needed.
5. Maintain company tools, facilities, and equipment while ensuring a clean and safe work environment.
6. Work a standard 40-hour week, with potential for scheduled and unscheduled overtime, particularly during peak maintenance periods.

Qualifications
Required Skills:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year of technical experience (mechanical, electrical, etc.) or relevant technical education.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Capability to climb and work safely from a portable step ladder.
- Proficient in following directions, procedures, and completing tasks with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds).
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without requiring employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Skills:
- EPA certification is a plus.
- Experience in commercial HVAC systems.
- Familiarity with photovoltaic maintenance, including DC systems, AC medium voltage systems, and network communications.
- Background in industrial environments with machine repair and maintenance (e.g., Manufacturing, Automotive, Food Processing, Automation, Facilities) as a maintenance technician, electrician, electronic technician, field engineer, or service technician.
- Experience operating various SCADA systems.
- Proficient in using testing equipment and tools such as Thermographic Electrical Inspection, I-V Curve Tracing, Meggers, and Ground Fault Detection.
- Strong analytical and diagnostic skills for troubleshooting and resolving issues.
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and standard practices.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical single-line and three-line diagrams/schematics.
- Proficiency in the MS Office suite.
