Position Overview:

The Perioperative Service Line Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the operational excellence of our surgical services. This position is integral to our mission of delivering compassionate care while adhering to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Director in overseeing the administrative, human resources, and financial aspects of designated surgical specialty service lines.
  • Collaborate with the Perioperative Business Manager to monitor and analyze service line costs, implementing strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce expenditures without compromising quality.
  • Engage in negotiations with suppliers to ensure appropriate inventory levels and competitive pricing.
  • Foster strong relationships with surgical specialists to enhance service line development, improvement, and marketing.
  • Supervise and mentor Registered Nurses, Surgical Technicians, and Patient Care Assistants, promoting best practices within the service line.
  • Act as a role model, driving positive change and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support the team and organizational goals.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing is required; a Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare-related field is preferred or in progress.
  • A minimum of two years of clinical experience in the relevant service line specialty is essential; prior management or supervisory experience is advantageous.
  • Must possess an active California Registered Nurse (RN) license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English with professional clarity.
  • Competent in utilizing necessary computer software and troubleshooting patient care equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and positively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the capacity to teach, supervise, and collaborate effectively.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on organization and prioritization.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to distinguish colors and smells relevant to patient care.
  • Ability to hear and communicate effectively in person and over the phone.
  • Visual acuity to read medical records and computer screens.
  • Capacity to discern temperature variances through touch.
