Job Summary:

The Supervisor of Nutrition Services is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Nutrition Services department at Loma Linda University Medical Center. This includes supervising employees who work in various areas such as cafeteria, production, patient meal service, tray line, dish room, catering, and diet offices.

The successful candidate will ensure that food production, food service, and diet office operations are conducted in accordance with established policies and procedures. This includes monitoring the timeliness and accuracy of menu selection, quality of food, and sanitation and safety procedures in all areas within Nutrition Services.

The Supervisor of Nutrition Services is also responsible for providing supervision to ensure that operations within Nutrition Services are compliant with regulatory standards. This includes assisting with employee performance evaluations, handling human resource functions, time and attendance, and staff scheduling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise employees in various areas of Nutrition Services
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards
  • Assist with employee performance evaluations
  • Handle human resource functions
  • Monitor food production, food service, and diet office operations

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree in Nutrition, Hospitality, or related field required
  • Minimum two years of experience in food service environment required
  • Minimum one year supervisory experience in healthcare environment preferred
  • Knowledge of inventory control and ability to use computer software programs
  • Able to work calmly and respond courteously under pressure

Licensures and Certifications:

Dietetic Technician Registered (DTR), Certified Dietary Manager (CDM), Culinary Degree, Nutrition Degree, or Dietary Services Supervisor Certification (DSS) preferred. Current ServSafe Certificate required. Current Driver's License required upon hire.
