Pathology Support Technician

Position Overview:
The Pathologists' Assistant plays a crucial role in the pathology department, working under the general oversight of a pathologist. This position involves independently conducting or assisting in the following tasks:
- Accessioning and dissecting surgical specimens
- Evisceration and detailed description of specimens
- Performing autopsies and histologic sampling
Responsibilities:
In addition to the core duties, the Pathologists' Assistant will:
- Support faculty in supervising and training entry-level resident physicians and fellows in the field of pathology
- Engage in additional responsibilities as required by the department
Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree from a NAACLS accredited Pathologists' Assistant program. A minimum of one year of relevant experience is also required. Certification as a Pathologists' Assistant from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is mandatory.
