Main Responsibilities

The Chief Operations Officer is empowered to oversee the functions, scheduling, and prioritization of all operational sectors, including Raw Material and Finished Goods Inventory, Shipping, Receiving, Planning, and Facilities/Maintenance. This role involves setting production objectives and analyzing data to identify trends that facilitate the achievement of these objectives.

Authorized to modify standard procedures when necessary and permitted by client requirements to adhere to timelines. Has the authority to sanction expedited shipping for products or services that may influence delivery schedules.

Accountable for departmental budgets, staffing, and managing costs throughout the production cycle to align with the strategic business plan. Serves as a member of the Executive Management Team, ensuring timely and efficient shipping of the company's products while optimizing the use of materials and workforce.

Key Duties

- Assessing Production Department Performance

- Balancing staffing levels with production demand

- Recruiting, training, and terminating subordinate staff

- Planning and directing production operations

Essential Skills

- Proficient in production and manufacturing methodologies

- Familiarity with quality assurance systems and standards

- Understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance

- Experienced in process enhancement strategies

- Knowledgeable in business, finance, and management principles

- Awareness of human resource management practices

- Competent in machinery and tools

- Understanding of engineering and technological principles

- Strong computer proficiency

- Exceptional communication, teamwork, project management, and presentation abilities

- Proven leadership, management, and business insight skills

- Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and acceptable driving record

Preferred Qualifications

- APICS Certification

- Proficient with M2M MRP/ERP systems

- Knowledge of military and commercial specifications and standards

- Training and experience in Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies

Educational Background

- Bachelor's Degree in any Engineering Discipline or APICS Certification.

Experience Requirements

- Minimum of 5 years in a Production Management position.
