Position: Structural Engineer (Silent-Aire/PE)

Key Responsibilities

Utilizing your extensive expertise in civil and structural engineering methodologies, you will be tasked with planning and executing independent projects that require critical judgment in the assessment, selection, application, and modification of engineering techniques, procedures, and standards. You will also innovate solutions to complex challenges and prepare or adjust technical drawings, specifications, calculations, charts, and graphs, while ensuring compliance with relevant codes and recognized engineering practices.

This position is a hybrid role.

How You Will Contribute

  • Collaborate with production and safety teams to devise situational solutions related to structural design, including the analysis of manufacturing tools and safety systems.
  • Conduct design evaluations, calculations, models, and validations for manufacturing plant designs, lifting devices, carts, tables, and fixtures.
  • Prepare design assessments, calculations, models, and validations for structurally related components of HVAC systems and other manufactured products.
  • Create, oversee, and validate structural drawings for manufacturing purposes.
  • Engage with external parties, including various regulatory bodies, to secure approvals for structural designs as dictated by specific projects.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses of various designs and provide justifications for structural component sizing and selection for product platforms.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in collaborating with engineering and production teams on diverse projects as required.
  • Perform inspections on the manufacturing floor to verify adherence to structural designs.
  • Maintain plant certification as required.
  • Work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines as part of a cohesive design team.
  • Utilize various structural engineering software and propose enhancements for technological progress.
  • Provide leadership within a multidisciplinary engineering team and manufacturing environment.
  • Possess knowledge of structural and safety regulations set forth by various organizations.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil and/or structural engineering.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is mandatory.
  • Capability to develop efficient and constructible designs as part of cost-reduction strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for positive interactions with clients.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational capabilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Commitment to ongoing technical education and personal growth, both independently and with guidance.
  • Detail-oriented with a diligent work ethic.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel across North America as needed.
  • Occasional exposure to shop environments, necessitating adherence to safety protocols.

Desirable:

  • Experience in metal fabrication and a manufacturing-oriented work setting.
