Position Overview:
The Event Operations Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact between the client and all operational staff and contractors involved in the venue.
Once an event contract is finalized, the Coordinator collaborates closely with the client to address all facility-related requirements.
Moreover, the Coordinator ensures that all venue policies and procedures are adhered to during the preparation and execution of the event.
During the event, the Coordinator oversees the proceedings, ensuring that the client's expectations are met and any operational or safety concerns are promptly resolved.
The Coordinator will indirectly supervise all operational staff throughout the event, aligning their duties with the goal of delivering a seamless and enjoyable experience for all attendees and venue users.This role offers a competitive annual salary range of $55,000 to $70,000.

Venue Overview:
The Greensboro Coliseum Complex is a dynamic multi-facility venue that serves the Greensboro community and surrounding regions.
It accommodates a wide variety of events, including sports competitions, cultural showcases, concerts, theatrical performances, educational programs, fairs, exhibitions, and both public and private gatherings such as conventions and trade shows.
Comprising nine distinct venues, the largest being the iconic 22,000-seat Greensboro Coliseum, it has a rich history of hosting prestigious events, including ACC and NCAA basketball championships, as well as concerts by legendary artists like Paul McCartney, Garth Brooks, and Elvis Presley, alongside today's top performers such as Drake, Bad Bunny, and Taylor Swift.
As one of the most frequently booked venues in the nation, the Greensboro Coliseum Complex hosts over 1,100 events annually.
Key Responsibilities:
Possess 3-5 years of relevant experience in event management.
Oversee the planning, coordination, and logistics of assigned events; act as the liaison between the venue and all involved parties.
Ensure effective communication with venue staff regarding all event requirements by preparing and distributing detailed event documentation, including resumes, diagrams, staffing needs, setup instructions, and other supporting materials using industry-standard software.
Manage and monitor event budgets, including preparing financial estimates for clients based on anticipated operational costs and coordinating post-event financial settlements.
Resolve issues during event setup and execution to ensure compliance with all contractual obligations while adhering to safety, health, and fire regulations.
Verify that all necessary insurance certificates, licenses, and permits for events are secured in a timely manner.
Ensure the venue is maintained in a clean and orderly fashion before, during, and after events to enhance customer satisfaction.
Act as a venue representative during events, enforcing policies and addressing any public or event-related complaints professionally to ensure guest satisfaction.
Participate in regular building meetings.
Communicate any issues and proposed solutions to the executive team.
Foster effective working relationships with clients, colleagues, part-time staff, contractors, patrons, and municipal officials.
Serve as the facility manager on duty as needed.
Execute all responsibilities with a focus on customer service through teamwork and dedication to OVG's principles.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Two to four (2-4) years of progressively responsible experience in event management within a stadium, arena, convention center, or similar public assembly environment.
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in facility management, hospitality management, business, or a related field.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and general computer skills.
Ability to obtain a current CPR certification and a valid driver's license.
Understanding of operational characteristics of events and the ability to identify user needs.
Knowledge of crowd management techniques, customer service practices, and principles of supervision and training.
Familiarity with facility use contracts, fire and public safety regulations, and A/V equipment in public assembly venues.
Experience in budget preparation and management.
Awareness of terminology used in entertainment and public assembly settings.
