Culinary Specialist for Senior Living

This role presents an excellent opportunity for a Culinary Specialist experienced in preparing both hot and cold meals tailored for our assisted living environment. Ideal candidates will have a solid understanding of various cooking methods and food safety protocols, as well as knowledge of specialized dietary needs, including modified texture diets, therapeutic diets, and allergen management.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Master the preparation of all mechanically altered food items according to specific dietary guidelines provided by health professionals.
  2. Oversee the preparation of all menu items for residents, adhering to production sheets, menus, and special requests from care team members.
  3. Ensure the accurate preparation of food quantities in line with dietary requirements, standardized recipes, portion control, and sanitation standards.
  4. Maintain adequate inventory levels of essential food items in designated service areas as needed.
  5. Foster positive relationships with staff, residents, and families, promoting teamwork across all levels of the organization.

Qualifications:

Education and/or experience equivalent to a high school diploma or GED is required. A minimum of three years of experience in a quality food service operation is preferred. A current food handler's certification is necessary.
