Job Title: Research Teaching Specialist IV

Rutgers University is seeking a highly skilled Research Teaching Specialist IV to join our team in the Department of Neurology at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will assist the research team in conducting high-quality research, including maintaining knowledge of specific study guidelines, managing project data, and ensuring data consistency and security. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work well in a team environment, and have prior experience in clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist research team in conducting high-quality research, including maintaining knowledge of specific study guidelines, managing project data, and ensuring data consistency and security.
  • Coordinate study visits, contacts participants, maintains study schedules and appointments, and ensures that all research protocols are followed appropriately.
  • Implement recruitment and consenting of subjects for research studies, including attending community-based recruitment events, obtaining signatures on consent forms, and scheduling appointments and meetings.
  • Comfortably communicate with research participants with memory issues in a clear and concise fashion.
  • Obtain and document patient information and medical history, organize equipment and supplies required for testing, and perform cognitive testing after appropriate training.
  • Prepare and summarize research protocol data for reports and presentations of findings, and prepare materials for research meetings.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant science plus 1 year prior research experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work well on a team and assist older research participants with mobility issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Detail-oriented and possess excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Prior experience in clinical trials.
  • Proficiency in Spanish or Mandarin Chinese.
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in an office/cubicle environment, research visit room, and MRI facility. The position requires moderate noise exposure and some potential exposure to hazardous waste.
