Desktop Support Specialist

Estes Forwarding Worldwide (EFW) is a leading domestic and international freight forwarder in the United States, providing customized logistics and warehousing solutions for clients around the world and across all industries via air, ground, and ocean freight. As a Desktop Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our technology infrastructure, providing technical hardware and software support for end users from support staff to top executive management.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical hardware and software support for end users, including configuring and moving workstations, inputting data into local operational processes, and escalating technical issues to senior technical resources.
Perform routine maintenance and support of standard hardware/software technology in use at the company, including installing, configuring, testing, monitoring, and making minor repairs to personal computer hardware and software systems.
Provide technical assistance and training to system users, assist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring desktop operations, and effectively support our technology to ensure productivity of associates as they work in turn to serve our external customers.
Requirements:
Minimum of one acceptable technical certification and/or Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a related field, plus 3-5 years of related IT experience.
Technical aptitude and experience as it relates to PC hardware and LAN technologies, experience with Microsoft Windows 7 and MS Office, and demonstrated track record and eagerness to learn new technology.
Strong quality focus with good follow-through and accuracy, demonstrated self-starter and independent worker, team-oriented focus, attention to detail and organization skills, solid interpersonal and communications skills, and ability to handle difficult conversations.
