Position Overview:

The Convention Services Manager is responsible for the meticulous preparation of all event documentation and the seamless coordination with Sales, property departments, and clients to guarantee a consistent and high-quality service experience throughout the planning, execution, and post-event phases of property events. This role identifies opportunities to enhance revenue through strategic up-selling and the introduction of value-added services to deliver exceptional events. The manager serves as the primary contact for meeting and event planners post-turnover, ensuring a positive experience throughout the event lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Exhibits strong management capabilities in guest hospitality, demonstrating exemplary customer service and fostering a welcoming environment for guest relations.
  • Oversees the planning, execution, and management of conventions, meetings, and associated events, including sales negotiations and conflict resolution.
  • Effectively communicates group specifications and historical data to relevant departments.
  • Encourages optimal utilization of function spaces, exhibit halls, and overall event venues, maximizing group revenue by promoting all available services, attractions, and subcontractors for convention and meeting-related functions.
  • Manages contracted group room allocations, including cutoff dates, attrition, and special requests as per the signed agreements.
  • Plans and organizes logistics for convention and meeting group programs, including resumes, agendas, Banquet Event Orders, and services tailored to client specifications and established protocols.
  • Administers group room allocations and meeting spaces for designated groups.
  • Facilitates Planning Meetings, Site Inspections, and Pre-Convention Meetings in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Ensures all conventions comply with company policies, fire department regulations, state liquor laws, and other applicable governmental regulations.
