Minimum Qualifications:
  • International applicants must be paired with a Visa organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
  • Valid Teaching Certification.

Role Summary:

The lead teacher will work both independently and collaboratively to design and execute the PYP curriculum in innovative and engaging ways, adhering to the IB framework for teaching and learning. Responsibilities include developing unit plans that align with both IB and Common Core Standards, integrating faith into educational practices, and utilizing data to enhance student development across various domains.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Create a safe and nurturing learning environment that reflects Daystar's educational principles.
  • Design learning spaces in accordance with established classroom standards.
  • Plan and deliver lessons aligned with relevant educational standards and practices.
  • Demonstrate initiative and a commitment to personal pedagogical growth.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievement.
  • Engage in meaningful communication with parents/guardians regarding student performance.
  • Provide timely feedback on assessments to students and families.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to implement transdisciplinary units of inquiry.
  • Organize educational excursions and invite guest speakers to enrich the curriculum.
  • Promote respectful use of classroom resources and the school environment.
  • Participate in all required community engagement events.
  • Guide support staff in assisting students with instructional tasks.
