The lead teacher will collaborate and work independently to design and execute the PYP curriculum, adhering to the International Baccalaureate framework. Responsibilities include creating unit plans that align with both IB and educational standards, while integrating faith into teaching practices. The lead teacher will utilize data to enhance instructional methods and support holistic student development.
Key Responsibilities:- Establish a secure and nurturing learning environment based on Daystar principles and responsive teaching practices.
- Design classroom layouts that reflect the academy's educational philosophy.
- Plan and deliver lessons in accordance with relevant educational standards and the IB framework.
- Demonstrate initiative and a commitment to personal pedagogical development.
- Prepare and submit detailed unit and lesson plans as required.
- Maintain comprehensive records of student progress and achievements.
- Encourage student reflection on their work and growth throughout the academic year.
- Engage in regular communication with families regarding student performance and expectations.
- Provide timely feedback on assessments to students and their families.
- Regularly update the class portfolio with highlights of student learning.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to implement interdisciplinary units of inquiry.
- Organize educational excursions and invite guest speakers to enrich the curriculum.
- Promote respectful use of classroom resources and the learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistency across the educational program.
- Supervise students and assist as needed in various capacities.
