Minimum Qualifications:

Role Summary:

The PYP Lead Educator will work both independently and collaboratively to design and execute the PYP curriculum, adhering to the IB framework. This role involves creating unit plans that align with both IB and Common Core Standards while integrating faith into the educational experience.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish a secure and nurturing learning environment based on Daystar's educational philosophy.
  • Design learning spaces in accordance with established classroom standards.
  • Plan and deliver lessons guided by relevant educational standards and practices.
  • Demonstrate initiative and a reflective approach to personal teaching goals.
  • Submit detailed unit and weekly lesson plans as required.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of student progress and achievements.
  • Encourage student self-reflection on their work and growth.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding academic and behavioral expectations.
  • Provide timely feedback on assessments to students and parents.
  • Regularly update the class portfolio with highlights of student learning.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators to implement Transdisciplinary Units of Inquiry.
  • Organize educational excursions and invite guest speakers to enhance the curriculum.
  • Promote respectful use of classroom resources and the school environment.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a cohesive educational experience.
  • Supervise students and assist as needed.
  • Participate in essential community events.
  • Guide support staff in assisting students with various tasks and expectations.
