Position Overview:
The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston is seeking a dedicated Lead Research Scientist specializing in Neurology. This role involves spearheading innovative research initiatives aimed at enhancing the understanding and treatment of neurological disorders.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute comprehensive language assessment protocols tailored for individuals with epilepsy.
- Conduct remote assessments and generate detailed reports that address the language and communication requirements of patients.
- Collaborate with a diverse team of healthcare professionals, including neurologists and psychologists, to create a robust virtual data acquisition platform focused on clinical biomarkers.
- Develop and refine established assessment methodologies for the virtual platform.
- Utilize advanced statistical modeling techniques to uncover relationships between clinical biomarkers and health outcomes.
- Analyze extensive health record datasets employing state-of-the-art bioinformatics tools.
- Construct and optimize statistical analysis pipelines to derive insights from biomedical data.
- Engage in multidisciplinary teamwork with biologists, clinicians, and software engineers to enhance data collection processes and maintain data integrity.
- Explore and interpret visualized datasets to support clinical data analysis.
- Stay informed on the latest advancements in biostatistics and contribute to the enhancement of data analysis methodologies.
- Document and disseminate research findings through scientific publications and presentations.
- Mentor junior researchers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Qualifications:
- Doctorate Degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of four years of experience in a research setting with a proven track record of publications in the field.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently.
- May involve work with potentially hazardous materials.
