Position Overview

The Senior Facilities Engineer plays a crucial role in delivering engineering, qualification, and maintenance support for both GMP and non-GMP utilities, HVAC, and electrical systems at our facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage site-based utility, electrical, and HVAC systems, including but not limited to water-for-injection, chillers, boilers, and clean rooms.
  • Provide hands-on support for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of systems that support manufacturing operations.
  • Manage changes to facility and utility equipment, ensuring compliance with validation requirements and maintaining critical documentation.
  • Lead investigations into non-conformance events and manage alarm processes related to equipment and facility systems.
  • Develop engineering solutions for complex equipment issues and participate in audits of manufacturing facilities.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, including GMP requirements and internal policies.
  • Lead projects from initiation to completion, ensuring compliance and operational excellence throughout the equipment lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with vendors and service providers to optimize facility operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across utility and facility systems.
  • Utilize operational excellence techniques to enhance utility efficiencies and minimize failure modes.
  • Define and optimize equipment qualification strategies.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development.
  • Implement effective equipment reliability and maintenance strategies.
  • Contribute to the consistency of practices across manufacturing sites.
  • Provide expertise in complex facility investigations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
  • B.S. degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Alternatively, an associate degree or certification in Engineering Technology with 10 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Extensive knowledge of cGMP, GxP, and related regulations.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proven ability to resolve complex issues.
  • Excellent project management skills, capable of handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and capable of learning new software quickly.
  • Ability to analyze metrics and implement improvements.
