Inventory Control Specialist

The Preston Automotive Group is seeking a highly skilled Parts Manager to oversee the daily operations of our parts department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management of our inventory, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction, and driving sales growth.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective inventory management strategies to minimize obsolescence and maximize turnover.
- Manage a team of parts department staff, providing guidance, training, and coaching to ensure they meet their performance goals.
- Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the parts department, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to negotiate pricing and ensure timely delivery of parts.
- Monitor and analyze sales, expenses, and inventory levels to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to drive revenue growth and increase market share.
- Ensure that all parts are properly tagged and accounted for, ensuring accurate inventory levels and minimizing losses.
- Supervise stock order procedures, ensuring timely and accurate processing of orders.
- Set and enforce policies for special ordering of parts, ensuring that stock orders represent a percentage of total orders agreed upon by management.
- Attend management meetings to stay informed on company initiatives and provide input on parts department operations.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement a lost sales tracking report to identify areas for improvement.
- Direct outside parts and counter sales efforts, including telemarketing programs to maintain customer relationships.
- Develop and execute sales promotions to drive revenue growth and increase market share.
- Take advantage of manufacturer's inventory co-op advertising programs to promote our products.
- Develop and enforce guidelines for working with customers to ensure maximum satisfaction.
- Handle customer complaints in a timely and professional manner, ensuring that issues are resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
- Ensure that all dealership purchases are properly accounted for before payment is made.
- Assist in the collection of past-due accounts.
- Stay up-to-date on federal, state, and local regulations that may affect parts sales.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to company dress code.
