Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Charge Specialist to join our team at Queen's Health System. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will be responsible for processing, auditing, and entering patient charges in accordance with established departmental and Medical Center policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  1. Process and audit patient charges in a timely and accurate manner.
  2. Monitor the accuracy of master files of charge items for procedures and supplies in assigned areas.
  3. Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless billing and revenue cycle processes.
  4. Perform basic mathematical calculations and demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology.
  5. Stay up-to-date with inpatient and hospital billing requirements, including CPT, ICD-9, HCPCS, UBC, DRG, APC, and CoPATH.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or comparable education.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience with supplies and/or patient charges in assigned area or ability to perform 7,200 Adjusted Keystrokes per hour.
  • Demonstrated experience with computers and word processing (i.e., Word) preferred.
