Position Summary:
The Access Registration - Patient Business Services Representative II plays a crucial role in facilitating patient registration for hospital and physician services. This position requires adaptability in understanding complex healthcare systems to effectively communicate with patients, healthcare providers, and physician offices, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of information collected.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute access registration tasks while exceeding productivity benchmarks.
- Conduct patient registration post-clinical triage, verifying health plan coverage.
- Accurately document patient demographics and health plan details.
- Support insurance verification and authorization processes.
- Engage with physician offices and payers for follow-up on eligibility and authorizations.
- Maintain high-quality scoring and accuracy across all accounts managed.
- Demonstrate independent decision-making abilities.
- Ensure timely follow-up on assigned accounts to prevent revenue loss.
- Act as a resource for team members, sharing knowledge and insights.
- Document all actions taken and next steps for account resolution in the patient accounting system.
Compliance and Education:
Adhere to all federal and state regulations, as well as company compliance policies. Maintain accurate documentation of all communications regarding accounts, in line with company and client specifications.
Stay informed about industry regulations and best practices, including HIPAA, FDCPA, Privacy Act, and FCRA. Participate in training sessions and share knowledge with colleagues.
Qualifications:
High school diploma is required, along with a minimum of one year of experience in a medical or physician office setting. Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel), are essential. Experience with EPIC systems is preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in clinic or hospital registration.
- Knowledge of communication regulations related to HIPAA and TCPA.
- Familiarity with various insurance payers (Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, Workers Compensation).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment.
