About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PhD graduate to join our team of cybersecurity experts at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and develop innovative solutions to complex cybersecurity challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth analysis and reverse engineering of systems to identify and understand security vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and implement novel methods for software, hardware, and firmware reverse engineering.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify and prioritize research projects and develop proposals for internal funding opportunities.
  • Communicate research findings and results through papers, presentations, and technical reports.
Requirements
  • PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in embedded development, reverse engineering, or hardware hacking.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance and TS/SCI clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Dynamic technical leadership experience.
  • Understanding of major operating systems, exploitation techniques, and mitigations.
  • Experience reading or writing assembly code.
  • Prior interactions with the Department of Defense and/or Intelligence Community.
