Your Role
As a Cybersecurity Threat Analyst, you will be integral in identifying and mitigating advanced cyber threats in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting real-time incident management and developing procedures to analyze and contain malicious activities.
- Gathering evidence, including digital media, logs, and malware, to support investigations into cyber intrusions.
- Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of attack strategies and utilizing this knowledge operationally.
- Making informed recommendations and refining processes based on insights into sophisticated threat behaviors.
- Identifying and assessing threats through Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) and Threat Intelligence resources.
Key Responsibilities
Your primary duties will encompass:
- Proactively hunting, monitoring, analyzing, and responding to infrastructure threats.
- Contributing to Computer Network Defense initiatives and developing solutions to enhance Defensive Cyber Operations.
- Creating and refining content and methodologies for monitoring and incident response, leveraging data extraction for deeper analysis.
- Enhancing workflows, processes, and documentation to improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborating with cross-functional security teams and IT personnel to implement information assurance controls and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you should meet the following criteria:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Information Security or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in a complex network environment.
- Proficiency in Linux operating systems, particularly RHEL and Ubuntu, with a strong understanding of OS internals and identifying anomalous behaviors.
- Experience with data analysis tools such as Splunk, ELK, Hadoop, or SQL.
- Flexibility to work outside standard business hours, including overnight and weekend shifts, as needed for incident response.
- Eligibility to obtain a Secret level security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following qualifications will enhance your application:
- A Master's Degree in Information Security Assurance or a related field.
- Experience in operational cybersecurity environments and familiarity with advanced attack methodologies.
- Technical expertise in areas such as Endpoint Detection & Response, Active Directory anomalies, and network anomaly detection.
