Job Summary

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse at Riverview Health is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong assessment and prioritization skills, as well as effective communication with physicians and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Triage patients who present to the Emergency Department, prioritizing care based on the critical nature and severity of a patient's condition.
  • Assess patient condition through visual evaluation, medication reconciliation, and vital sign measurements.
  • Administer medication and assist with medical procedures as prescribed by the treating physician.
  • Monitor patients for changes in condition and communicate timely and effectively with those involved in the welfare, care or treatment of the patient.
  • Partner with other members of the patient care treatment team in the provision of procedures, interventions, discharge or admission processes.
  • Chart all patient medical history, contact information, condition, medications, and treatment as well as update the electronic medical record throughout the patient stay in the Emergency Department.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse Program.
  • Two (2) years of Critical Care experience.
  • American Heart Association Certifications of Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Registered Nurse - licensed to practice in the state of Indiana.
