Position Overview

Seamon, Whiteside and Assoc, Inc. is seeking a driven and skilled individual to take on the role of Survey Crew Chief in our expanding office.

Role Responsibilities

The Survey Crew Chief will emphasize the core principles of land surveying while adhering to the company’s established standards. This position plays a vital role in supporting the Survey Department's daily field activities, which include:

  • Operating and maintaining surveying equipment
  • Collecting precise and organized field data
  • Executing tasks such as cutting lines and holding rods
  • Loading and unloading equipment efficiently

The individual in this role is encouraged to seek guidance and mentorship to deepen their understanding of the land surveying field while ensuring the safety and efficiency of the survey crew.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience: Minimum of 4 years in land survey field operations with proficiency in surveying equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of surveyors to ensure efficient and accurate data collection
  • Supervise field survey operations, equipment setup, and quality control
  • Address client inquiries and deliver exceptional service throughout projects
  • Utilize surveying equipment, including Trimble, Total Station, and GPS
  • Manage data processing workflows
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards
  • Provide training and development opportunities for team members
  • Promote a culture of safety and compliance with health protocols
  • Conduct precise land measurements and assessments
Desired Skills
  • Prior experience as a crew chief
  • Drone piloting skills
  • Familiarity with outdoor environments
  • Knowledge of plant and tree species
  • Ability to foster a collaborative team atmosphere
  • Valid driver's license
