Position Overview

Seamon, Whiteside and Assoc, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to take on the role of Survey Crew Chief in our expanding office.

Key Responsibilities

The Survey Crew Chief will emphasize the core principles of land surveying while adhering to the company's established standards. This position plays a vital role in supporting the Survey Department with daily field activities, which include:

  • Operating and maintaining surveying equipment
  • Collecting precise and organized field data
  • Executing tasks such as cutting lines and holding rods
  • Loading and unloading necessary equipment

In this role, the Survey Crew Chief is encouraged to engage in continuous learning and seek guidance to enhance their understanding of the land surveying field while ensuring the safety and efficiency of the survey crew.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience: Minimum of 4 years in land survey field operations with proficiency in surveying equipment.

Essential Functions
  • Lead a team of surveyors to guarantee efficient and accurate data collection.
  • Supervise field survey operations, equipment setup, and quality assurance.
  • Address client inquiries and deliver exceptional service throughout projects.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in surveying tools, particularly Trimble equipment, Total Station, and GPS.
  • Manage workflows for survey data processing.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and professional standards in land surveying.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for team members.
  • Promote a culture of safety and adherence to health protocols for the crew.
  • Conduct accurate measurements and assessments of land and properties.
Desired Skills
  • Prior experience as a crew chief.
  • Drone piloting experience.
  • Familiarity with outdoor environments.
  • Knowledge of plant and tree species.

  • Valid driver's license.
