Position Overview:

Design and enhance processes for safe and efficient automotive frame assembly. Utilize analytical tools and traditional industrial engineering methodologies to optimize production functions on the assembly line.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Employ M.O.S.T. to create balanced processes across manufacturing sectors, aiming for high process efficiency. Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and design straightforward processes that meet SQCDM targets.
  • Audit extensive data to ensure the accuracy of information across all operational standards. Leverage Excel formulas and VBA coding to streamline tasks.
  • Lead regular meetings with various Honda functional teams to develop and initiate improvement initiatives (Quality, Safety, Delivery, Production, Purchasing, Packaging, or Logistics).
  • Conduct time assessments for assembly line tasks, equipment loads, and establish operational standards.
  • Identify opportunities to minimize waste and enhance efficiency within processes. Implement 5S methodologies, workstation design, and establish best practices for production.
  • Evaluate and apply ergonomic solutions to prevent workplace injuries.
  • Support new model events by forecasting design impacts on the department and integrating change points into process designs. Identify concerns and implement countermeasures prior to mass production.
  • Maintain precise AutoCAD layouts for the department.
  • Develop project plans and schedules, setting timelines and detailed activities. Conduct meetings with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure project completeness.
  • Provide project support for all aspects affecting the assembly department's associate processes.
  • Gather feedback from the production floor and address any concerns raised.
  • Interpret parts drawings, specification notices, and 3D CATIA data.
  • Create charts and presentations to communicate status and plans for key departmental metrics.

Candidate Profile:

Required Experience:

  • 0-6 years of experience, depending on educational background.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing) or equivalent work experience of 6 years.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in Excel VBA, Standard Time Evaluation, Workstation Design, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and Customer Service.

Additional Position Considerations:

  • Primarily first shift production hours, with occasional split/second shift support required. Up to 5 hours of overtime weekly.
  • 50% fast-paced manufacturing environment, 50% office setting.
