Position Overview:
This role is a Hybrid opportunity, blending both in-office and remote work. Associates are expected to be present in the office for a minimum of two days each week while enjoying the flexibility of off-site work.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
  • Facilitate and oversee the quality development of new components and the approval processes with suppliers to align with both customer and internal quality standards.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal departments (Quality, Procurement, Engineering, and Manufacturing) to ensure timely delivery of sample parts, conduct internal evaluations, and secure necessary approvals.
  • Lead supplier audits and the evaluation of new components.
  • Assist in the selection process of suppliers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage APQP and PPAP processes for new components and suppliers.
  • Oversee the assessment of new components to ensure compliance with customer and internal specifications.
  • Provide training and support to suppliers to ensure they comprehend the expectations and quality system requirements of the organization.
  • Evaluate component samples in the laboratory as required.
  • Identify and track missing PPAPs for new projects; request and process PPAPs from suppliers.
  • Investigate and monitor countermeasure activities for new suppliers and components.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of supplier quality activities.
  • Conduct various audits at supplier locations (including pre-production and new supplier audits). Travel may be required up to 30%, primarily within North America.
  • Plan and implement strategies to ensure the quality of new components and materials developed and managed by the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline is required (BSEE or BSME preferred).
  • 0-3 years of experience in Quality Engineering; experience in the automotive components sector is advantageous.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English/Japanese or Spanish is preferred.
  • Team-oriented with strong communication skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks (product development, planning, component evaluation, documentation, etc.).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel (intermediate to advanced level) and PowerPoint.
  • Typing speed of at least 50 characters per minute.
