Position Overview:

We are seeking a qualified Process Engineer to design and enhance processes for safe and efficient automotive frame assembly. This role involves utilizing analytical tools and traditional industrial engineering techniques to optimize production functions on the assembly line.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Employ M.O.S.T. methodology to create balanced processes across various manufacturing sectors, striving for high process efficiency while implementing Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Conduct audits of large data sets to ensure the accuracy of information across all operational standards, leveraging Excel formulas and VBA coding to streamline tasks.
  • Lead collaborative meetings with cross-functional teams to develop and initiate improvement projects focusing on Quality, Safety, Delivery, Production, Purchasing, Packaging, and Logistics.
  • Estimate time requirements for assembly line tasks, equipment loads, and establish operational standards.
  • Identify waste reduction opportunities and enhance efficiency through the application of 5S methodologies, workstation design, and best practices.
  • Assess and implement ergonomic solutions to mitigate the risk of associate injuries.
  • Participate in New Support Model Events, forecasting design impacts and integrating change points into process designs while proactively addressing concerns prior to mass production.
  • Maintain accurate layouts using AutoCAD for departmental configurations.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans and schedules, ensuring timely completion of activities through effective cross-functional collaboration.
  • Provide project support for all aspects impacting the assembly department's processes.
  • Gather feedback from the production floor to address and resolve concerns.
  • Interpret parts drawings, specification notices, and 3D CATIA data.
  • Create informative charts and presentations to communicate status and plans for key departmental metrics.

Candidate Profile:

Required Experience:

  • 0-6 years of relevant experience based on educational background.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing) or equivalent work experience of 6 years.

Desired Skills:

  • Proficiency in Excel VBA, Standard Time Evaluation, Workstation Design, 5S methodologies, Lean Manufacturing, and Customer Service.

Additional Position Insights:

  • Primarily first shift production hours, with occasional split or second shift support required. Up to 5 hours of overtime may be necessary weekly.
  • Work environment is split between a fast-paced manufacturing setting and an office atmosphere.
