Patient Care Associate

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Care Associate to join our team at Spaulding Rehabilitation. As a key member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide clinical support functions to promote a safe and compassionate patient care environment.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out patient care plans as directed by a registered nurse.
- Provide patient physical care, including bed baths, toileting, grooming, and changing bed linen, according to established guidelines.
- Perform patient monitoring activities, such as vital signs and blood glucose, according to established guidelines.
- Prepare patients for meals and assist with meeting their needs.
- Perform patient rounds regularly and answer call lights promptly to meet patients' needs.
- Document patient care in a timely manner, adhering to established standards.
- Organize patient room clutter to make best use of space and maintain a clean environment.
- Obtain and label specimens consistently with established procedures.
- Mentor and teach new nursing assistants to meet performance expectations.
- Complete additional department, organization, or network activities according to established objectives.

- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required, unless the candidate holds a nursing assistant certification.
- Recent experience and/or training in clinical patient care required.
- Enrollment in a nursing, pre-med, or physician assistant undergraduate program with a minimum of one semester of completed patient care rotations at the time of hire preferred.
- Possession of a valid license, certification, or enrollment as a student in a nursing assistant, medical assistant, mental health technician, or EMT-accredited program at the time of hire preferred.
This role requires standing, walking, sitting, and using hands requiring fine motor skills and sense of touch. The employee must be able to move, rotate, bend wrists, type, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, climb ladders or other equipment, drive or operate a motor vehicle, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, crawl, speak, hear, taste, smell, and touch.
Vision RequirementsThis role requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Safety EquipmentThis role requires the use of safety eye glasses, gowns, filter lens, scrubs, face shields, boots, ear plugs or mufflers, hard hat, surgical mask or dust mask, coveralls, self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), and gloves.
Work EnvironmentThis role requires working in a moderate noise level environment.
