Job Summary

As a Patient Care Associate at Spaulding Hospital-Boston & Cambridge, you will play a vital role in providing clinical support functions to promote a safe and compassionate patient care environment. Under the direction of a registered/licensed nurse, you will assist in carrying out patient care plans and provide physical care to patients, including bed baths, toileting, and grooming. You will also be responsible for monitoring patient vital signs and blood glucose levels, preparing patients for meals, and documenting patient care in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in carrying out patient care plans as directed by registered nurses.

Provide physical care to patients, including bed baths, toileting, and grooming, per established guidelines.

Monitor patient vital signs and blood glucose levels, and perform other monitoring activities as needed.

Prepare patients for meals and assist with feeding as needed.

Document patient care in a timely manner, adhering to established standards.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Recent experience and/or training in clinical patient care required.

Healthcare Provider CPR certification required.

Preferred Qualifications

Enrollment in a nursing program or possession of a valid nursing certification.

Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing situations.
