MISSION:

Quantum Research is in search of a proficient Microsoft Power BI Developer to support various contractual obligations at the National Cyber Operations Center (NCSOC). The role entails designing, developing, and sustaining business intelligence (BI) solutions that convert publicly accessible government and corporate data into actionable insights. The selected candidate will create and manage Power BI reports and dashboards that facilitate informed decision-making for analysts. Collaboration with business analysts, open-source intelligence (OSINT) data analysts, and other stakeholders is essential to comprehend and translate business requirements into effective data-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report and Dashboard Development: Craft, develop, and sustain interactive Power BI reports and dashboards that fulfill NCSOC's contractual obligations.
  • Data Modeling: Construct and enhance data models within Power BI to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
  • Data Integration: Execute ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from diverse open sources into Power BI, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Collaboration: Engage with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements, define project scope, and provide guidance on data visualization best practices.
  • Data Analysis: Conduct comprehensive data analysis to support decision-making, visualize trends, and deliver actionable insights to clients. Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with NCSOC objectives.
  • Performance Optimization: Enhance Power BI reports and data models for improved performance and scalability.
  • Training and Support: Offer training and assistance to end-users on effective utilization of Power BI tools.
  • Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of report specifications, data models, and processes for continuity and training purposes, including the development of Power BI Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Data Security: Ensure the implementation and maintenance of data security protocols within Power BI to protect sensitive information.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 2-5 years in business intelligence, data analysis, or related fields, with a minimum of one year specifically in Power BI development.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Expertise in Microsoft Power BI, including DAX and Power Query.
    • Strong grasp of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL methodologies.
    • Proficient in SQL and relational database management.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, SQL, and Access.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with advanced analytics and data science methodologies.
  • Certification in Microsoft Power BI or related Microsoft Azure credentials.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Scrum).
  • Familiarity with other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik).
  • Understanding of Azure Data Services (e.g., Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory).
