MISSION:

Quantum Research is in search of a proficient Microsoft Power BI Developer to contribute to our efforts at the National Cyber Operations Center (NCSOC) in alignment with U.S. Army and affiliated agencies' contractual obligations. The Power BI Developer will be tasked with the design, development, and upkeep of business intelligence (BI) solutions that convert open-source, publicly accessible government and corporate data into insightful, metrics-driven information. The role includes the creation, management, and maintenance of Power BI reports and dashboards that furnish actionable data for informed decision-making by analysts. Collaboration with business analysts, open-source intelligence (OSINT) data analysts, supply chain risk management (SCRM) analysts, and other stakeholders is essential to comprehend government and business requirements and translate them into data-centric solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report and Dashboard Development: Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI reports and dashboards to fulfill NCSOC government contractual obligations.
  • Data Modeling: Construct and enhance data models within Power BI to guarantee optimal performance and scalability.
  • Data Integration: Execute data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) from various open-sources into Power BI, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Collaboration: Partner with government and corporate stakeholders to gather and comprehend reporting requirements, define project scope, and offer expertise on best practices for data visualization.
  • Data Analysis: Conduct comprehensive data analysis to support decision-making, visualize trends and anomalies, and deliver actionable insights to government and business clients. Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) that align with NCSOC objectives.
  • Performance Optimization: Enhance Power BI reports and data models for improved performance and scalability.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and assistance to end-users on effective utilization of Power BI tools.
  • Documentation: Document report specifications, data models, and processes for continuity, future reference, and training purposes. Develop Power BI Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that encapsulate best practices and processes.
  • Data Security: Implement and uphold data security within Power BI, ensuring the protection of sensitive government and client information.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or related fields, with a minimum of one year specifically in Power BI development.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including DAX and Power Query.
    • Strong grasp of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
    • Experience with SQL and relational databases.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, SQL, and Access.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with advanced analytics and data science methodologies.
  • Certification in Microsoft Power BI or related Microsoft Azure certifications.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Scrum).
  • Knowledge of other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik).
  • Familiarity with Azure Data Services (e.g., Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory).
