Position Overview: The Customs Trade Coordinator plays a vital role in managing the necessary documentation required by US Customs and Government Agencies for the importation of goods into the United States on behalf of various clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Accurately classify goods for customs clearance using available resources such as databases, standard operating procedures, tariff books, and internet research.
  • Perform data entry and manage the processing of diverse import-related documents for submission to US Customs, including handling all Participating Government Agencies (PGA).
  • Maintain and update all shipment documentation to comply with record-keeping regulations.
  • Adhere to all international importing and exporting laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams, departments, and external partners to provide a high level of service.
  • Process agency brokerage shipments efficiently.
  • May be responsible for remote filings as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all governmental and organizational policies.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • No prior industry experience is necessary; however, a minimum of 6 months of work experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in data entry and keyboarding is essential.
  • Familiarity with MS Office, Outlook, and standard office equipment (phone, fax, photocopier, printer, scanner) is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to solve problems effectively and manage a high volume of work.
  • Capable of handling time-sensitive tasks independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to utilize multiple systems and reference materials efficiently.
  • Interact with customers, carriers, brokers, government agencies, and internal staff across various levels.
