Job Overview

California Bioenergy LLC stands at the forefront of producing Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) from dairy manure. Our mission is to collaborate with dairies to capture methane, a significant greenhouse gas, and utilize it effectively to mitigate CO2e emissions.

The Financial Planning and Analysis Specialist will play a pivotal role in supporting the organization through budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, capital planning, expense analysis, and various financial assessments for special projects. This position requires the individual to collect essential data to provide analytical, fact-based evaluations that will inform decision-making processes aimed at enhancing business outcomes. The role offers an exceptional opportunity to gain insights into the business, familiarize oneself with company systems, improve analytical and communication skills, and engage with executive leadership. Reporting directly to the CFO, this position is integral to our financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compile monthly financial results packages, ensuring thorough analysis and interpretation of performance metrics for senior management.
  • Develop financial models to support operational strategies and initiatives, while monitoring performance outcomes.
  • Create management reports that elucidate the factors influencing volume and price results in comparison to benchmarks (plans, previous periods, etc.).
  • Engage in the quarterly forecasting process, including data gathering and reporting obligations.
  • Contribute to the annual budget development, consolidating all financial and supplementary information.
  • Provide analytical and reporting support for designated projects.
  • Assist in the establishment and upkeep of the standard reporting library.
  • Generate and analyze monthly production-oriented Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Support the finalization of capital planning and forecasting.
  • Deliver comprehensive financial analysis to the executive management team as required.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA preferred.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in the Accounting/Financial Statement close process.
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong writing skills for reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation.
  • Effective presentation skills and the ability to respond to inquiries.
  • Capable of solving practical problems and addressing various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Adept at interpreting a range of instructions presented in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule formats.
