About the Role

MARA is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Vice President of Mining Operations to drive financial planning, analysis, and business strategy within our Utility Scale Mining Business Unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Strategy and Planning: Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, develop cash flow models to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, and develop and maintain long-term financial models to support strategic decision-making for Utility Scale Mining.
  • Financial Analysis & Reporting: Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, analyze financial results and key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide actionable insights to Utility Scale Mining leadership, and conduct variance analysis to understand deviations from budget and forecast and recommend corrective actions.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial planning and analysis, conduct financial analysis to support decision-making on capital investments and other strategic projects, and leverage technology and data analytics to streamline financial processes and reporting.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key liaison with corporate finance and other external stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and strategic planning.
  • Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial software and tools, such as Excel, financial ERP systems, and data analytics platforms.
