POSITION SUMMARY:

The Shrink Analysis Specialist plays a crucial role in examining and reporting on shrinkage outcomes. Key responsibilities encompass: Assisting in the evaluation of all shrink-related initiatives, providing return on investment (ROI) analysis for existing and new shortage strategies, creating new shrink reports for various business units, performing comprehensive data analysis to uncover root causes and propose alternative actions based on logical reasoning, and generating reports to monitor program effectiveness and identify opportunities for process and systemic improvements. Additionally, the Specialist will participate in local store inventory events to gain a thorough technical understanding of store and vendor count processes and systems, becoming proficient in the execution of Physical Inventories.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Oversee databases and report statistics on shortages and strategies to mitigate and eliminate them.

* Conduct ROI analysis on various current and proposed shortage initiatives, including store protection specialists and merchandise protection equipment.

* Perform detailed data analysis to identify root causes of shrinkage issues and communicate findings to field and corporate partners.

* Execute Optimal analysis following each physical inventory to ascertain the type and quantity of tags necessary to enhance shrinkage control.

* Develop cubes, reports, and dossiers using Microstrategy Self-Service to convey information and statistics on shortages and measures to reduce them.

* Address ad hoc analysis requests from all departments.

* Attend local store inventory events.

* Generate monthly Shortage Control reports, providing actionable insights and feedback to field operations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish best practices.

* Cross-train with other shortage team members to prepare and distribute various shortage reports for backup reporting needs. Ensure the provision of actionable insights and reports to field operations while collaborating with cross-functional teams to communicate exceptions and findings.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

* Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.

* Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial/business analysis (retail experience preferred).

* Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to problem-solving involving large datasets.

* Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in work output.

* Excellent customer service skills and the ability to resolve issues promptly.

* Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of Power BI is highly desirable.

* Ability to prioritize multiple competing projects under tight deadlines.

* Financial (including ROI analysis) and statistical modeling skills.

* Retail store experience and/or collaboration with field organizations preferred.

* Strong oral and written communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

This role necessitates regular in-office presence, including participation in team interactions, meetings, collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and feedback. However, this role can effectively perform duties using a combination of in-office and remote work.
