Job Summary

The Central School District 13J is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Site Coordinator to oversee the Before and After School Program. This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students and families in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage expanded learning opportunities for students and families, including before and after school programs.
  • Implement programs in collaboration with program, school, and district staff, as well as community partners.
  • Develop and maintain a positive and respectful learning environment, fostering strong relationships with students, staff, and community members.
  • Support staff training, data collection, and performance reporting.
  • Ensure program compliance with state, district, and grant requirements.
  • Collaborate with the principal, school day staff, and program partners to align the program with the school day curriculum.
  • Provide proactive student behavior support, addressing issues and contacting families and administrators as needed.
  • Develop and maintain trust and positive relationships with students, promoting a sense of safety and well-being.
  • Record and report required program data, including food service, attendance, behavior, health, and safety.
  • Prepare and maintain student registration, field trip permission, data, attendance, and teacher forms.
  • Ensure adequate staffing and fill in as needed to meet mandated standards, communicating with administrators when additional support is required.
  • Provide training to staff in collaboration with school and district staff.
  • Coordinate all before and after school activities.
  • Maintain evidence of continuous monitoring of student progress.
  • Analyze data and submit results to the principal and district director.
  • Conduct and document emergency and safety drills.
  • Conduct a parent/caregiver orientation meeting and family engagement activities throughout the year.
  • Provide ongoing communication to participants, families, staff, and community partners.
  • Maintain a current information bulletin board, including schedules, activities, pictures, and community resources.
  • Solicit meaningful input from students, families, and partners through written surveys.
  • Document volunteer and community partnerships.
  • Demonstrate a professional and positive attitude as a member of the district team.
  • Utilize computer and software programs related to job responsibilities.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
  • Follow and maintain knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Three years' experience in youth programs, such as academic enrichment, visual/performing arts, health/nutrition, technology, sports/recreation, etc.
  • Post-high school education, college coursework, and/or training in education, recreation, psychology, health, or other related fields.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Google and Word programs.
  • Experience creating and managing academic and/or enrichment programs for small and large groups of children.
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse cultures and populations.
  • Bilingual - English and Spanish.
