Job Title: Medical Assisting Program Coordinator

At Hondros College of Nursing, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Assisting Program Coordinator to join our team.

Responsibilities:
  • Instruct Medical Assisting students in assigned lecture courses and on-campus labs, according to the established curriculum.
  • Promote a positive learning environment in the classroom and lab environment.
  • Advise Medical Assisting students on course, program, and career issues.
  • Evaluate Medical Assisting student achievement and progress.
  • Provide tutoring and success strategies to assist students in meeting required learning outcomes.
  • Refer Medical Assisting students to the lab for skill development as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with all members of the College to fully implement the curriculum.
  • Review class syllabus that aligns with the curriculum plan and explains course requirements.
  • Design and implement teaching strategies to assist the student in meeting course objectives.
  • Actively participate in faculty meetings to insure consistent implementation of courses.
  • Coordinate academic operations of the Medical Assisting program at the campus, at the direction of the Dean, Medical Assisting Program.
  • Provide support to students in using computer-based educational products, including, but not limited to, MyClassroom, HESI, Connect, ExamSoft, etc.
  • Provide support to other Medical Assisting program faculty on the campus.
  • Follow governance reporting structures.
  • Follow all written policies and procedures in the catalog.
  • Supervise lab budgetary purchases and needs for campus.
  • Contribute to the budgetary needs of campus including supervision of lab budget.
  • Assist with placing students at clinical externship sites.
Requirements:
  • An associate's degree in a healthcare related field from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
  • Three (3) years of full-time experience as a medical assistant in a healthcare facility, with a minimum of one (1) year of direct patient care in an ambulatory healthcare setting.
  • Classroom teaching experience.
  • Current medical assistant registration or certification through a nationally recognized and accredited certifying agency (or willingness and ability to obtain at time of hire).
