Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Account Receivable Specialist to join our team at Norfolk State University. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring due diligence in actively collecting the university's receivables, resolving unreconciled differences and adjustments, and providing exceptional customer service to students, parents, faculty, staff, and others.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and manage receivables in accordance with university and state guidelines and regulations.
  • Provide responsive and accurate customer service to students, parents, faculty, staff, and others.
  • Resolve unreconciled differences and adjustments in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of state regulations related to debt collections.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the Financial Aid Office or Bursar area.
  • Knowledge of general accounting practices.
  • Counseling and communication skills.
