Accounts Receivable Specialist

This position is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate receipt of payments from customers, maintaining accurate records, and resolving any discrepancies or issues that may arise. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Receive, record, and post cash, checks, and vouchers in a timely and accurate manner
- Process credit card and ACH payments, and reconcile any discrepancies
- Administer Lockbox payments, including reconciliation and verification of customer information
- Verify and resolve customer billing issues, and correspond with customers via phone and email as needed
- Locate and notify customers with overdue accounts, and work with them to establish repayment schedules
- Record and maintain accurate information about customer financial status and collection efforts
- Audit and track proof of product delivery, and assist with Sales Tax Exemption Certificate Administration
- Establish and maintain relationships with pre-negotiated city contracts, and assist with cross-training on responsibilities
- Experience in accounts receivable, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work well in a deadline-driven environment
- Ability to work independently and as a team member, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
