Role Summary

Food Service Project Manager - Dining Facility

Blackstone Consulting, Inc. is looking for a skilled food service Project Manager to oversee our dining facility operations.

Key Responsibilities:

The primary duties of the Project Manager include managing the daily operations of the cafeteria-style dining facility and ensuring the contract's performance meets established standards. This role involves supervising a team of managers and 35-45 staff members.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years of experience in food service within the U.S. Army or U.S. Air Force is preferred.
  • At least five years of experience in managing cafeteria-style or multi-entré operations, with a minimum of three years in a supervisory role.
  • A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in food management may substitute for two years of the required management experience.
  • Three to five years of military food service experience may count as management experience.
  • Sanitation and Food Safety certification obtained within the last four years.
  • Proven ability to manage food services, labor, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Capability to interpret government contracts and apply them appropriately.

Specific Duties:

  • Oversee the Food Service Operations at the dining facility.
  • Facilitate collaboration and support among dining facilities, including labor resource sharing.
  • Ensure adherence to the Building/Equipment Cleaning Plans.
  • Conduct regular inspections of dining facilities in line with quality control measures.
  • Maintain strong communication with the corporate office, client contract supervisor, and dining facility management.
  • Respond promptly to client inquiries and requests for information.
  • Manage budget controls for inventory, supplies, equipment ordering, and labor costs.
  • Develop work schedules that comply with contract requirements.
  • Ensure all employees follow safety regulations and conduct monthly safety training.
  • Provide necessary training to staff.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Understand OSHA regulations, labor relations, and employment law relevant to workforce management.
  • Familiarity with the company’s Employee Handbook, policies, and payroll procedures.
  • Comply with all HACCP standards.
  • Oversee cash management and control operations.
  • Manage the workforce fairly and consistently.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Mobility to walk, stand, and move throughout the kitchen and dining facility.
  • Occasional bending and stooping.

This position requires the ability to navigate the office environment, including accessing file cabinets and operating office machinery. Regular use of computers and other office equipment is necessary.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $78,000 - $83,000 per year
