Role Summary

Food Service Project Manager - Dining Facility

Blackstone Consulting, Inc. is in search of a skilled food service Project Manager to oversee our dining facility operations.

Key Responsibilities:

The Project Manager will be tasked with directing activities within the cafeteria-style dining environment, ensuring the contract's performance meets established standards while managing a team of 35-45 employees.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in food service, preferably with the U.S. Army or U.S. Air Force.
  • At least five years of experience in managing cafeteria-style or multi-entr e operations providing full meal service, with three years in a supervisory capacity.
  • A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in food management may substitute for two years of the required management experience.
  • Three to five years of military food service experience may be counted as management experience.
  • Current Sanitation and Food Safety certification.
  • Proven expertise in managing food services, labor, budget, and resources.
  • Ability to interpret and apply government contracts effectively.

Specific Duties:

  • Oversee the Food Service Operations at the dining facility.
  • Facilitate collaboration and support among dining facilities, including labor resource sharing.
  • Ensure adherence to Building/Equipment Cleaning Plans.
  • Conduct regular inspections of dining facilities in line with quality control measures.
  • Maintain strong communication with corporate office, client supervisors, and facility management.
  • Respond promptly to client inquiries and requests.
  • Manage budgetary controls for inventory, supplies, and labor costs.
  • Develop work schedules in accordance with contract specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and conduct monthly safety training.
  • Provide necessary training to staff.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Understand OSHA regulations, labor relations, and employment law relevant to workforce management.
  • Adhere to company policies and payroll requirements.
  • Comply with HACCP standards.
  • Manage cash operations effectively.
  • Ensure fair and consistent workforce management.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Capable of walking, standing, and moving around the kitchen and dining area.
  • Some bending and stooping may be required.

This position involves regular office tasks, including operating computers and office machinery.

Note: Management reserves the right to assign or reassign duties as necessary.
