Position: Cloud Software Engineer III

Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI w/ Poly Required

Key Responsibilities:

This role is for a Cloud Software Engineer III to collaborate with the Compute Team on a highly parallel enterprise platform, utilizing Java and Free and Open-Source Software products such as Kubernetes, Hadoop, and Accumulo to facilitate data-intensive analytics on a managed infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be a proactive Java developer with a keen eye for detail, capable of working both independently and collaboratively, and will encounter various technologies based on client needs.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in Java programming for distributed systems, with a solid understanding of networking and multi-threading
  • Experience with Apache Hadoop
  • Familiarity with Apache Accumulo
  • Knowledge of Apache NiFi
  • Agile development experience
  • Strong foundation in Linux and knowledge of at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Ruby, Perl)
  • Experience with source code management tools and practices
  • Familiarity with enabling tools: Git, Maven, Jira
  • Continuous Integration / Continuous Testing tools: Bamboo, Jenkins, GitLab CI/Pipelines
  • Continuous Monitoring tools: ELK Stack (ElasticSearch, Logstash, and Kibana), Nagios

Required Education/Certifications:

  • A minimum of twenty (20) years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution
  • Hadoop/Cloud Developer Certification
