Position Overview

ARSIEM is currently seeking a Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer. This role will involve supporting one of our government clients.


Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and enhance intricate Big-Data Cloud systems based on specified requirements.
  • Contribute to all phases of back-end processing, including analysis and indexing.
  • Provide expertise in Cloud Computing and the Hadoop Ecosystem, focusing on Java application implementation, Distributed Computing, Information Retrieval (IR), and Object-Oriented Design.
  • Work independently or collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Review and test software components to ensure compliance with design specifications and document testing outcomes. Address software issue reports.
  • Utilize appropriate software development and design methodologies relevant to the development environment.
  • Offer insights into system design, including hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, and the use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS) or Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) solutions.

Minimum Qualifications
  • A minimum of twelve (12) years of software engineering experience in programs and contracts of similar scope and complexity.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • At least four (4) years of experience in programs utilizing Big-Data cloud technologies and/or Distributed Computing.
  • Four (4) years of cloud software engineering experience on projects involving similar Big Data systems may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
  • A Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field may substitute for two (2) years of experience.
  • Cloudera Certified Hadoop Developer certification may substitute for one (1) year of Cloud experience.
  • Two (2) years of experience in Cloud and/or Distributed Computing Information Retrieval (IR).
  • Experience in implementing code that interacts with Cloud Big Table and distributed File Systems.
  • Experience in architecting Cloud Computing solutions and debugging issues with Cloud-based Distributed Computing Frameworks.
  • Experience in managing multi-node Cloud-based installations.
  • Proficiency in Utility Computing, Network Management, and Virtualization technologies.

Preferred Qualifications
  • In-depth knowledge of Information Retrieval and assisting the software development team in designing, developing, and testing Cloud Information Retrieval systems.
  • Experience in implementing complex workflows for Cloud MapReduce analytics.
  • Ability to oversee software development tasks and ensure compliance with the software development process.
  • Recommendations for enhancing documentation and software development standards.
  • Expertise in Cloud Computing technologies, including Hadoop.
  • Experience in managing multi-node Cloud installations and delegating programming responsibilities.
  • Ability to recommend new technologies and processes for complex cloud software projects.
  • Ensure quality control of all developed software.
  • Architect solutions to complex Cloud Software Engineering challenges.

Clearance Requirement
This position requires an active TS/SCI clearance. Candidates must be U.S. Citizens for consideration.
