We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher specializing in X-ray Optics. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to advance the research and development of state-of-the-art X-ray optical systems and novel imaging techniques aimed at addressing complex scientific challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, fabricate, and evaluate imaging optical systems within the X-ray spectrum.
  • Conduct tests and implement unique optical solutions during intricate experimental campaigns pertinent to scientific research and national security.
  • Enhance the forefront of ultrafast 4D imaging diagnostics.
  • Prepare comprehensive analyses and deliver presentations that effectively communicate research findings.
  • Stay informed about the latest technical literature in relevant fields.
  • Publish research outcomes in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences and technical meetings.
  • Engage in independent research initiatives while collaborating with a diverse range of scientists.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Optics, Physics, Material Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in optics and instrumentation, including design, fabrication, and characterization.
  • Familiarity with modeling optical performance of innovative instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of X-ray optics and optical systems.
  • Ability to work autonomously on technical tasks and develop innovative solutions.
  • Experience collaborating within a research team and functioning independently with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills essential for effective teamwork and scientific dissemination.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience conducting experiments at light sources.
  • Familiarity with tomographic reconstruction methods.
  • Knowledge of X-ray diffraction and reflectance techniques.
