Compensation:
Annual salary of $113,760.
Role Responsibilities:
As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will:
- Design and implement experiments to investigate electromagnetic and radiofrequency phenomena.
- Conduct extensive experimental campaigns and gather critical data.
- Utilize advanced analysis techniques on large datasets.
- Engage in simulation activities.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to achieve research objectives.
- Pursue independent research aligned with group interests and interact with leading scientists.
- Stay updated on relevant technical literature.
- Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences.
- Adhere to all safety, security, and business practices.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must possess:
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Department of Energy Q-level security clearance.
- A PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- A strong research background in physics or electrical engineering.
- Experience in conducting laboratory experiments.
- Proficiency in data analysis programming languages such as IDL, Python, or MATLAB.
- Demonstrated ability to develop independent research projects with peer-reviewed publications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong initiative and interpersonal skills, with a desire to work collaboratively.
- Experience in developing research proposals.
Preferred Qualifications:
We value candidates with:
- Knowledge or practical experience with energetic materials, high explosives, or shock wave phenomena.
- Understanding of electrical breakdown theory or experience in this area.
- Familiarity with fluid simulations.
Additional Information:
This position is a Postdoctoral appointment with a potential extension of up to three years. Candidates must have completed their PhD by the time of hire. All selected external applicants will undergo a pre-employment drug test in compliance with federal regulations.
