Director of Lodging Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Lodging to lead our lodging team at See Rock City, Inc. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, a deep understanding of the industry, and a proven track record of leadership and management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the operations of all lodging venues within the See Rock City, Inc. umbrella, including the Chanticleer Inn and Grandview.
  • Ensure that guest lodging, food/restaurant service, housekeeping, and guest relations meet the highest quality standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive operational innovation and excellence across the organization.
  • Manage budgets, P&L responsibilities, purchasing, and vendor relations for all lodging locations.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and group sales to promote new offerings, merchandise, or special events.
  • Monitor sales and provide daily or weekly reports to ensure budget adherence.
  • Implement strategies for controlling costs and delegate responsibilities to managers as needed.
  • Oversee the staffing and scheduling of all locations to ensure they are staffed appropriately.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health Department regulations for all lodging and food services.
  • Manage a team of direct reports to ensure they are being given adequate direction, communication, performance management, and development.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in hospitality and tourism, business management, or related field required.
  • Five to seven years related experience required, with experience in the hospitality industry preferred.
  • Management-level experience with multiple direct reports, budgets, P&L responsibilities, purchasing, and vendor relations required.
  • ServSafe certified or ability to become certified within 90 days of moving into the role.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels of the organization.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and present information to others.
  • Ability to develop and implement a strategic plan.
