Position Summary

The Talent Acquisition Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the recruitment process, reporting directly to the Assistant Vice President of Talent Acquisition, Development, and Engagement. This position encompasses a variety of recruitment functions, including strategic candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, and collaboration with hiring managers and senior leadership to uphold the institution's mission and values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the complete recruitment cycle for the institution, acting as a consultant to hiring managers.
  • Design and implement sourcing strategies to identify qualified talent pools, ensuring timely recruitment and maintaining long-term candidate relationships.
  • Develop and execute advertising and social media recruitment strategies. Organize outreach initiatives and represent the institution at recruitment events.
  • Monitor, maintain, and report on recruitment metrics, providing regular updates to hiring managers and recruitment leaders.
  • Build strong partnerships with hiring managers and institutional leaders to understand the requirements of open positions and the profiles of ideal candidates.
  • Ensure an equitable recruitment process free from bias. Facilitate the delivery of job offers and communicate essential employment information to candidates.
  • Follow up with candidates and hiring managers to gather feedback on the recruitment process, continually enhancing the experience for all parties involved.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices in talent acquisition and actively participate in special projects aimed at improving recruitment performance.
  • Analyze recruitment performance metrics and provide guidance to hiring managers on candidate selections based on objective assessments.
  • Assist in managing responsibilities during peak recruitment periods and provide training to team members. Maintain accurate employee records and perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies, procedures, and applicable legal regulations affecting human resources.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a Human Resources role, specifically in recruitment or talent acquisition.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience with HRIS applications and analytics.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional certifications such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience in talent acquisition.
  • Understanding of labor markets and effective recruiting practices.
  • Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage positively with candidates and stakeholders.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Strong analytical and collaborative skills, with the ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
Working Conditions
  • This role primarily involves working in an office environment.
  • Travel to various locations may be required.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, as well as lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
