Job Overview

Mazzella Service is seeking a highly skilled Service Manager to oversee the operation of our crane service business. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the success of our branch location, driving sales and budget objectives, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Drive Sales and Budget Objectives: Ensure the branch location meets company sales and budget objectives through effective field productivity, scheduling, and cost control.
  2. Develop and Implement Crane Service Budgets: Create and execute budgets that align with company goals and objectives.
  3. Grow Crane Inspection Contract Base: Proactively increase the number of crane inspection contracts and related repairs and upgrades.
  4. Optimize Field Technician Utilization: Monitor and maintain an accurate and acceptable utilization rate of field technicians, minimizing indirect time.
  5. Determine Staffing Requirements: Determine staffing needs based on labor utilization rates.
  6. Supervise Department Team Members: Lead and develop a high-performing team, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  7. Assist with Sales Initiatives: Support sales efforts, account sales, and technical expertise to drive business growth.
  8. Provide Instruction and Training: Develop and deliver training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  9. Ensure Safety Compliance: Ensure all personnel adhere to safety regulations, including OSHA guidelines.
  10. Oversee Service Work: Ensure the accomplishment of all service work contracted with customers, maintaining company goals and long-term profitable relationships.
  11. Provide Sales Support: Maintain or grow existing customer relationships and gain new customers through sales support.
  12. Monitor Employee Work Time: Track and manage employee and technician work time for payroll purposes.
  13. Complete Performance Reviews: Develop and manage employees, ensuring they meet performance expectations.
  14. Authorize Expenditures: Approve all expenditures handled directly by the service.
  15. Maintain Branch Facilities: Ensure the branch is well-maintained, including housekeeping, general upkeep, and cleaning.
  16. Assure Team Members Maintain Equipment: Ensure team members maintain all vehicles, equipment, storage, and work areas used in the field and shop.
  17. Assist Service Writers: Support Service Writers in understanding completed inspection reports to formulate quotes.
Requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional with:

  • 4+ years of experience in an administrative, customer service, or technical environment.
  • Expert knowledge of the crane service industry.
  • Strong time-management skills.
  • Exceptional decision-making skills.
  • Effective strategic management skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Ability to plan and delegate.
  • Ability to devise strategic planning.
  • Ability to divide tasks into subtasks and delegate them to team members.
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen, and E-verify.
