Position Overview:

This role involves the commissioning of advanced Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) across a variety of sectors including:

  • Data Centers
  • Healthcare Institutions
  • Manufacturing Facilities
  • Government and Military Installations
  • Commercial Real Estate
  • Academic Institutions

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will engage directly with clients and contractors, often in dynamic construction settings. Responsibilities include:

  • Installation, upgrades, and customization of EPMS software.
  • Commissioning and troubleshooting of both Schneider Electric and third-party electrical monitoring devices.
  • Conducting device communication diagnostics and point-to-point verification using multimeters.
  • Providing comprehensive training to clients on the operational aspects of the commissioned systems.
  • Replacing hardware components as necessary.
  • Consulting with clients to ascertain system operation needs.
  • Documenting the finalized system configurations.
  • Traveling to client locations, with potential overnight travel requirements up to 75%.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A two-year technical degree focused on electrical power systems or electronics.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience in Electrical Power Monitoring Systems, Building Automation Systems, or Energy Management Systems.
  • Ability to interpret contract specifications and electrical schematics.
  • A stable employment history.
  • A willingness to travel frequently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Capability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Additional desirable skills include:

  • Experience with electrical equipment such as switchgear, generators, and UPS systems.
  • Understanding of electricity fundamentals, power generation, distribution, and quality concepts.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard communication protocols, particularly Modbus, IEC 61850, and BACnet.
  • Knowledge of computer networking principles and architectures.
  • Experience in HMI configuration and graphical interface development.
  • Direct experience with Schneider Electric proprietary software solutions.
